During the 2018 Cache Summit attendees participated in a growth visioning exercise for Cache Valley. Attendees got to choose one out of nine sub-regions representing Cache Valley to work on. After choosing a sub-region, they were tasked with identifying areas of the landscape they would like to see protected (e.g., creeks, wetlands and farmland) and circle them in black. Their next task was to place chips representing different housing densities around their sub-region to accommodate a 60% increase in population. The exercise was an informal way to get attendees to visualize growth from a valley-wide perspective while considering aspects of the landscape they would like to protect.
